I don't know of any size beyond the factory spec oil filter. Is there a reason you want a bigger one??
I tend to favor using BOSCH oil filters, number 3331 for the 3800/3100/3400 engines.

I just use the oem Acdelco filters & prob wont do any better with a bigger one, my truck, monte & my old GTO used the same size filters & i cant see spending the extra money for Bosch im sure there good filters though, might read up on em though

Lets put it this way. The company is risking thier reputation on their oil filter. WHY ? Would you want to ?? If its good enough for G.M. to have on all their cars & trucks with it. Again ? Why would you want to change that ?

Those filters don't really give you more time between changes, they allow being reused for 1 change though.
For the $3 that a quality purolator costs, I don't mind changing it when I do my oil change.

there is a larger filter that fits with no issues at all...... i use the larger filter on turbo monte actually.
factory replacement ac delco filter is pf47
larger replacement filter ac delco filter is pf52
i been using the pf52 for 2yrs now on turbo monte and no issues and alot of my buddies in the area that have 3800 engines use the larger one as well.

I can't give you "fact" about why I use the BOSCH filter, only opinion. I tried just about each filter on my '84 Camaro and I "feel" (take it as you wish) that the oil came out cleaner, looked cleaner when I used a BOSCH. I've favored their filters since. I'm not "religious" that EVERY oil change has had a BOSCH, some had Fram and other brands, but 90% or more of the time, my fleet has a BOSCH filter.
Like I said, I don't have any "scientific" fact, simply an opinion. My cars seem to do great, the last Grand Am had about 85K on it when I bought it, sold it with 215K on it (again BOSCH filters on most oil changes).
Sorry, that sounded a little soapbox-ish. I'm not going to convince anyone to switch. Even though I prefer BOSCH filters, I feel ANY name brand filter you buy will do the job adequately. I'm certain some are better then others, but on a normal, lightly or non-modded car, you won't see a difference. Just change your filter with every change lol
