not starting lately
2003 ls - When i turn my key the engine starts to turn, but the battery dies before it starts. Battery is good, drawing 12 volts when running, alternator draws 14 volts, any ideas? With a charger hooked up it starts right up. I THINK i checked all the grounds. Cleaned all battery connections. Is this a starter issue? I have also been told possibly fuel pump?
If the lights cut out, it's a charging issue or a loose ground. Make sure the terminals are tight. If that isn't the case, you could have a bad battery. I had mine tested a while back, passed the test, 12 volts, all that. Lights would cut out, but would come back on if I turned the key off and on. Car wouldn't start though. Replaced the battery, started right up.
x2 ^^nitehawkjcb said... in one week, I had my Fusion and Expedition batteries die. Working in the morning... dead that afternoon... The Fusion was similar to yours where everything seemed ok, but when I cranked it over it sounded worse and worse.. changed battery and everything was good.
