So I've recently come to purchase an 06 Monte Carlo. And it's great. But the only issue right now with it is that it won't learn any new keyfobs. I didn't get the original. And when I press ✓ to have it learn a new one. It doesn't follow up with the correct prompt or make any sound like it's supposed to. It just goes right back to "press ✓ to learn remote" called a locksmith. And he had no idea what was going on either. Anybody have any idea on what I can do?

 

There is no need to hire a locksmith to learn it as visit their official site and get the manual to learn the procedure of operating the remote.

 

Check this link that I found it might be just the trick. Hopefully you have a GM remote sometimes the aftermarket ones are really difficult.
