Smile Non-CCC help

I understand that gas mileage isnt the best feature on the Monte, but not having the ECM probably doesnt help either. My mech got ahold of a Non-CC Q-jet 750cfm for me. What kind of mileage should i expect? What else could i get to boost it up a bit?

Going to be a DD so I do plan on getting a OD trans too

Thank you guys in advance..

Hard to say on miliage, depends alot on a number of factors, drivings style, elevation, hilly area, lots of flats, highway, city,

I was getting 18 in my 85 with the CC qjet and 3 spd trans, 50/50 city/hwy, got on it on a regular baises

Don't forget to get a vac advance dist, since the electronic controled one will be useless

As long as i match my 04 Blazer ill be fine. I live in Central TX and the highway and freeway are always available. Any type of bolt ons you recommend for better mileage. Intake manifold, headers??

Headers might actually make your life easier if you're doing away with the computer. The egr system has these pipes going into your stock exhaust manifolds that are rusted real bad I'd say. The ones on my 87 LS was. When you try to plug these you'll have real trouble getting them out. A set of headers will completely make this a non-issue. Taking the computer out won't necessarily help with performance and efficiency if it's working correctly, though. I took the computer out of my car and it probably would've been easier leaving it alone.

well 2 yrs ago, a mechanic was gonna get rid of the emissions for me(which he did along with the computer), had i had known i would've bothered. Im now to the point where i want my car in my possession. Computer's gone, okay. How can i make it a little easier on myself to keep it running right? i like performance but economy is my priority.

@wvmontels, what kind of mileage are you getting?

I really do appreciate you guys alot, thank you sooo much!
