Default New shocks/struts

On 8/15/2019, just over a week ago, i replaced both front shocks/struts on my 2001 monte carlo ls. I got the complete assembly with the coil springs and everything. Ive read online that after replacing, the car will sit a little higher until the springs settle. It also said this on the package for the new struts. But my car looks like i got a 3 to 4 inch lift on the front and it hasnt got any lower since i put them on. Could this be because i havent replaced the rear? Or is something not right?
Its not the best pic but you can see the front is significantly higher than the back. I dont have it jacked up or anything.
