Well for the oil, if you know you had it changed and it still looks clean when you check it, the oil light probably just never got reset. The warm engine, make sure you've got the correct amount of coolant. Has any work been done lately to the cooling system that might have let some air in?

I am pretty sure that the engine hot/ac off comes from the engine coolant temperature sensor. I replaced mine and the problem went right away. My engine wasn't actually overheating, the car just thought it was. After the code comes on, it can be extremely hard to start if you turn the engine off. That's because it goes into limp home mode. I would recommend using a scanning tool to reset the code before trying to start it. Good luck!

It took me five minutes and about $15. If your car is genuinely overheating, it's not the sensor. You have a legitimate problem. I would guess the thermostat.

Hmmm... Before my sensor went out, I had a water pump go out. There was very little evidence that there was a problem. Look behind the pulley to your pump while it's running and you may be able to see a very fine spray that doesn't show up when it's not running.
