how you guys doing im new to the site an i need help with my 04 montecarlo ls and i hear water or something in my dash an sometimes after it rains it leaks through the passenger side floor and also i notice the anti-freez is low more than it should but i see no leaks on motor or on the floor any clue to what could it be thanks

 

nobody knows i tried looking myself but no luck thanks anyways

We have memberrs coming and going 24/7 but sometimes it may require a little patience for a question to receive a reply. It sounds like the cowl seal for the cabin air filter is leaking. This is a common problem with the W body cars. There's a 'sticky' about this problem located in the How-To Section/6th Generation Monte Carlos:

Edit: Somehow I missed the anti-freeze part of your post. It sounds more like a leaky heater core. When it rains you probably use the heater more and that's why you notice an increase in the leak.

 

check the oil could be head gasket could be leaking thru the fresh air filter also check radiator. could be leaking on to a hot exhaust pipe these are just a guess

 

Do you notice a mist on the windshield either with your heater on or off? This will be caused by your heater core leaking. You will also have a sweet smell like antifreeze in the car and your coolant will get low. Other than that, a leak in the engine compartment will not go thru your firewall. A leak in the windshield could cause it too but I would think you would see other signs of that. I don't have any experience with Fresh Air Filters but I'm sure others here do. Good luck!

 

thanks ill look into it more just back from ny and my waterpump went so now i got to fix that

 

could my water pump have went because mixed antifreeze i had dexcol and on a last min buy i mixed it with peaklife i didnt think it would be a problem but some ppl are telling me its not good
