Question Mystery Vacuum Line

The image says it all. '02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS. I have it plugged up right now since it was sucking in unfiltered air. I have the base model with no cruise control or anything.

It appears as though there should be a rubber 90° elbow on it. From the look of the hose, I'm thinking it may be a vacuum source for actuators in the dash to control flow for the heater/AC.

Depends on the car. I've seen some 3100/3400 cars with a plug there and others with a line connected.

I just went and looked at my wife's '05 Impala (think of it as a 4 door Monte), that connection is plugged on her car. So, I would say pop a plug on it and don't think about it any further.
