I have your solution. The selector switch that controls face, face/feet, feet and defrost operates via engine vacuum. This vacuum comes from a thin hard plastic tube that runs off the back of the engine. This tube is held against the firewall by black plastic clips. Start at the back of the engine and look for a plastic line coved in a ribbed plastic sheathing installed at the factory. The tube winds around the back of the firewall, over the top and to the left of the left strut tower mount(passenger side), then winds in front of the battery and into the wiring harness where it is routed down inside and under the glovebox to the vacuum reservoir/ball. On the vacuum reservoir, there is a small vacuum line which runs to the selector switch we mentioned. Lets start with the easiest first: Open your hood, find the black plastic line against the firewall. Remove it from the plastic clips then run your open hand the entire length of the line from the engine to where it disappears into the wiring harness. If you find a break or crack in the line, there's your problem. If not, you will have to pull the glove box door and the panel underneath it to gain access to the vacuum reservoir and the selector switch. Good luck. Contact me it you need any further help.
