Default my 98 z34 has issues

My 98 z34 is trying to stall while i'm driving. I originally thought it was the fuel pump going out, but its been a few days now and the pump still comes on. I generally try to do all repairs myself, but i'm not sure whats
wrong. Can anyone help steer me in the right direction?

Welcome to the MCF.
Have you changed your fuel filter ?
Did you check your Cat 2 see if it is clogged ?
How many miles on your Monte ?
We would love to see pic's when you have time : )

Check back on your thread question, and hopefully one of our Super Tech Member's will post their opinions/solutions.

Good Luck, and we hope that you find the problem..

Is your SES light on? If so, definately get it scanned, it would help greatly in the diagnosis. Based on the information you gave, there are countless possible problems that could be experiencing. When was your last tune up? Have you checked your spark plugs and wires? Check your antifreeze and your oil. If you're missing antifreeze, you could have a bad intake gasket.

The SES light comes on and off. The car runs fine when I cold crank it, but after I drive for a while it starts acting up. I plan on having it scanned this afternoon. Can parts stores check my fuel pressure too or do I need to take it to a shop? I've been fortunate. The car has 235,000 miles (1 owner) and is starting to show its age but thus far the only repairs I've made have been routine (starters, alternator, etc.).

You could just buy a fuel pressure gauge on ebay or something. I think I paid ~$30 for mine.

The scan at the parts store read faulty maf sensor. I replaced that and the car seems to be running fine. Plan on replacing the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires this weekend and maybe i'll find some lost power.
