Hi everyone, i'm new here, so bear with me...
We just bought a 98 Z34 yesterday with only ~82,000 miles, and unfortunately noticed a few problems with it.
As i have already read a few problems about fuel gauges, I won't go into too much detail...I'm pretty sure you all know what happens. But here's the catch, when you first start it, it usually reads empty, and sometimes even goes up and down. But when you give it some power and start going for a little bit, it goes back up. The tank was filled, so it went all the way up to full. I'm assuming it has do to with the sending sensor, or it could be bad wiring?? Maybe?
Here's what else - if you are just going down a street, maybe 15 MPH and then floor it, the speedo is sooooooo slow, and is very inaccurate. But again, after a while, it evens out! I'm thinking that both problems are related, possibly an electrical issue, maybe the alternator, or again bad wiring, or a bad speed sensor???
Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Mabye the fuse is bad, the power is taking to long to go to the gauges.

 

Y'know that's what I thought too, but the tach and the temp gauge seem pretty on target. I'll try it. If it's not the fuse, what else would be your next guess?
