I installed a new Passlock sensor and key cylinder with a switch I knew was good and as I expected, there was no change. Without a Tech 2 to confirm, I'm planning a BCM replacement. Better to do it now than 1000 miles from home.

 

SUCCESS! I went to Pick N Pull today and got the bcm and radio out of 2000 SS ($50 total) and my car is running and all systems are working, except the airbag light is on. I expected that since I have the side impact airbag in my seat that wasn't available in 2000. Now I know it is the bcm and I will have a working backup set of everything but the pcm and ecm when I get my new ACDelco bcm programmed in the near future. Also got a nice instrument cluster cover and and a correct 2nd design factory amp. After doing the security reset procedure and actually seeing the flashing security message, it started immediately and ran smooth. One old car problem resolved.
