Default Security light won't stop flashing

I have a 2000 Monte Carlo 3.4 and for some reason I can't get the security light to stop flashing. Happened out of nowhere after driving and parking the car and now it won't start. I've tried both 10 min and 30 min reset/relearn procedures with no luck. Tried another key also no luck. Went and got a another ignition module and still nothing. Everytime I attempt to start the car all dash lights and radio lights black out but the dome light stays on which is odd. Has anyone else has a similar issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I changed my ignition cylinder and ignition switch (housing the cylinder sits in). When you replace it and need to do a relearn the security light should flash on and off. Even after you do a relearn the security light will appear on a normally functioning car when the key is turned to acc.

If the car has the security light on or it appears when it's started and/or running then something is wrong.

Have you checked that your battery is not near dead? I used to have a battery drain issue with my Monte and when the battery was almost out of juice, the car did very weird things (if I saw it in the driveway with the back light5s flashing, I learned that meant the batter was near dead). I would double check this before going crazy.

Also, the key should not matter, as the key does NOT have a chip. The chip is in the ignition lock cylinder (not the ignition switch). There is no 10 minute relearn, it's about a 10 minute cycle and you need to do 3 cycles. Attached is the relearn process from the shop book. I also advise do NOT remove the key during this process (some people do that and you then start from the beginning).

when doing the relearn, i suggest you have a battery charger on hand and charge the battery while you do it. I'd also unplug the front headlights so they don't stay on and use the battery

Instead of disconnecting the lights, before putting the key in and starting, apply the eBrake. That tip and a few others are in the document I posted:
- Before beginning (before putting the key in the ignition), put the emergency brake on to disable daytime running lights (this step helps save battery power). Make sure all doors trunk and hood are closed. Leave the driver window down and reach in through the window to operate the ignition switch (avoids opening the doors).
- Security relearn procedure will not work with the valet key!
- Do NOT remove the key until the relearn is complete. When the steps state to switch the ignition to the off position, just switch to off, do not remove the key from the ignition.
- Once completed and the car starts, take a moment to scan and clear codes in the system (the system may have codes remaining from the process to relearn the PCM).
