Hi...I have an 84 with a 305...I removed the ECM a few months ago and now I want to intall an MSD 6AL model # 6420...I had installed a new distributor when I removed the ECM and I installed the MSD 8362 distributor...I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea how to install the MSD box to this distributor...the instructions for installing the MSD box uses a GM distributor as an example, but doesn't use and MSD dist...I'm wondering if it's the same or different...the instructions state GM had 4,5 and 7 pin ignition modules in their distributors...but does the MSD have a 4,5 or 7?...Do I need any special wiring harnesses for the hook up...any help is appreciated...Thanks.....

 

The bottom of page 16 or the top of page 17 of the installation manual is all you need. Unless you add the MSD coil (not needed with the HEI ignition you have). any confusion, call MSD. Good tech support, if the phones are still connected. LOL
