06 ss stereo/speaker problems
I've had my ss for a little over two years now. The guy I bought it from had some subs and an amp that he removed when I bought it. I just got back from a deployment, and during that time I let my brother and his wife use my car. Supposedly at one point the keys got locked in the ignition so he just disconnected the battery, and when he reconnected the battery the stereo no longer worked. So far I have checked all the fuses, replaced the stereo and the factory amp. The stereo functions, but I have no sound coming out of the speakers. Not sure where to go from here, hoping someone has some ideas.

Sounds like you did replace the stock stereo but you're saying the chimes are working now so at least your okay with those.
I am not too sure why. Sorry man.
I think in one of the fuse boxes there is a Stereo Fuse as well, re-check that fuse.
Very weird.

It could quite possibly be a ground issue, or possibly the speakers themselves no longer work? They do short out..despite them looking perfectly normal. Could be also the output connections at the radio are burnt out. Have you tried hooking up a different pair to see if in fact the outputs on the radio are still working?
There could also be a pinched wire causing a positive fault ground.
That has finally caused an issue that you didn't have previously? Even though you installed it.. It maybe something as simple as connection or a ground. Maybe check to see if the speakers work with out the Amp? Maybe the amp shorted out?
