MAF sensor
#21
I purchased a used MAF from moradpartscompany.com, it was worth taking a shot used, since a new one was $$$$
I assume we are talking for the 3800 correct?
MAF is super easy. Disconnect your Negative battery terminal (since you are dealing with an electronic portion of your engine). Take off your engine cover / heat shield. On the TB you will see the MAF sensor.
This picture is NOT POINTING TO THE MAF but if you look to the right of the IAC (what the arrow is pointing to) you will see the flatter sensor, that's the MAF.
Unplug the MAF sensor, and to remove those screws you will need a T-20 SECURITY Bit. You can go to your local store and probably pick one up, I just ordered a set of Security Bits from Amazon for roughly $5.
After you unbolt it, just pull up gently, and replace in the reverse order. Then reconnect your Neg terminal.

Hey ChibiBlackSheep: I just bought mines from autozone for $160 and I still have the check engine code going on. I was told to drive it more than 20 miles and it should clear itself but also to disconnect the battery for 15 mins and see what that does. Well both attempts was negative and I took it back at autozone which the same code is still reading (mAss AiR fLoW problem). So imma drive it a lil bit longer to see if it clears itself for like a week or two. You know in chicago is a monster in paying for parts and the tax hike that comes with it....:-(

How much did you pay for yours? Because the ones I have seen are well over $100 but the thing is I'm not sure which one to get. I'm tired of going to autozone or gettin my monte code read while in the shop and they telling me what they see instead of me seeing it for myself.

Amazon.com had a deal of the day on one and I bought it.
Amazon.com: Actron CP9550 Pocket Scan Plus OBD II and CAN Code Reader: Automotive
That's the one I purchased, I got it for around $40 shipped.
