Default low oil pressure

Hey guys. I have a V6 2001 Monty SS. My oil gauge from time to time says my oil pressure is low, then it goes back to normal. What could that be?

some possibilities:low on oil. check your level. oil pump regulator valve not operating correctly, the oil pump may be worn out, you could have a clogged oil filter or strainer. or your gauge itself could be acting up all in itself. which could be caused by a bad wire somewhere. or your engine could be overheating. when was the last time you did an oil change? do you notice the engine overheating at all?

No overheating. I put oil in. Now hand stays in middle till i hit the gas. When i hit the gas it goes to 3 quarter line. Other than that everything is cool. No noises or nothing

Another thing to look into is the oil pressure sending unit, theu go bad at times as well. When mines went bad there was oil everywhere. That don't happen all the time tho, still another strong possiblity
