Default little white smoke

Hello everyone, been awhile, have a new problem recently had new plugs and wires installed,a week later had valve gaskets installed as they leaked a little oil.Now 4 days later, when car gets up to operating temp when I leave a light or stop sign,a little white puff of smoke.Only does it after car warms up no oil loss and no coolant loss.Car idles, runs great.Any suggestions? It's a 2000ss with 118000 miles.

FYI - Moved this thread from the MCF Problems section (which is for problems related to the forum/software) and into the Monte Carlo Repair Help section.

As for your symptoms, white smoke is not always, but is linked as a sign of a blown head gasket. You might be in an early phase of that issue. Doing a cylinder compression test on each cylinder can help determine that for sure.

Where is this smoke coming from? If it's under hood it may be oil burning off the exhaust manifolds (but you would smell it). If it's out the tailpipe it may be a sign of water/coolant getting into a combustion chamber. If that's the case though you will usually have a consistent stream. A coolant pressure test or cylinder leak down test will verify the condition of the intake and head gaskets.

If it is out the tailpipe when you first accelerate it is probably your cat converter doing it's job - creating H2O. The heat turns it to steam and it exits the tailpipe as 'white smoke' which is perfectly normal.

thanks 03ssLE,smoke only comes out of tailpipes. The smoke is odorless,no smoke from engine compartment. Will do a compression test as you and the maniac have suggested.Just thought it odd it started right after valve cover gaskets were installed, didn't do it before.
