Key Fob ???
I have a 2006 SS, and for some strange reason both of my remotes do not work anymore.
Does anyone have any clue why, or is it something only a dealer can fix.
It is not the battery, not a fuse.
Thanks

My 06 SS did the same thing when was only 2 months old.The dealer had to replace the receiver unit which is under the dashpad. They tried a reprogramming first, but when that didn't work, they had to order the replacement unit.I had to leave the car therefor a day.The service manager said it was a common problem.I beleive you will find many previous posts here on the topic. The receiver unit also will affect the tire pressure monitors as well.I have not had a problem since however.
I'd first check the user manual on how to reprogramm them... I know you do it through the radio. Check that first, then bring to dealer, unless you still have a warranty, then I'd just let them deal with it.
I have the same problem with mine also. It's actually at the dealer getting repainted this week so they are going to fix it while they have it. They also said that it was the receiver (which entails ordering a new receiver, antennea, and reprogramming the remotes). This also affects the tire pressure monitors which on mine go off about once a day. Mine never quit working all together, but the farthest I could be away from the car was about 5-feet after that they quit working.
I had that same thing done on my car, haven't tested the key fobs, but they seem to be working better, but I'll have to check their range. The night I got the car back from the dealer it gave me the tire pressure monitor system error, but I haven't gotten it since, so I'm thinking maybe the code didn't get reset from before the repair, and just happened to display. Was done for no charge.
Just had mine fixed today and it works great again! They replaced the receiver, antennea, and both remotes. Also, both of the new remotes will start the car.
I would say that those of you who have had this done and only have one remote to start the car now should go back and complain, there's no reason they both shouldn't work. You paid for this after all!
