If its the LIM, you will need to have the lower intake gasket replaced.

We had the lower intake gasket replaced on my moms Bonneville 3800 at the Pontiac dealer...I don't remember the exact amount, but I want to say $730, $850 Max.

To do the LIM you are taking a substantial amount of the engine apart, so labor costs become quite high.

Keep in mind, I BELIEVE I remember that GM "fixes" the problem when you have it fixed at a dealer (maybe other shops do too, but IDK)...If I remember correctly, the dealer not only replaces the gasket, but they change the bolt pattern to prevent it from happening again. You might want to ask a dealer if they do anything to prevent it from happening again. It may just be that they use a different type of gasket...but for some reason I want to say the guy told me that they came up with a new bolt pattern to fix the problem because they were leaking around a bolt or something like that...I am pretty sure though that there is SOMETHING they will do different than just replacing it to 100% the way it was from the factory. So check with the dealer or shop you have doing the job and see about that!

Default LIM Gasket

My "Low Coolant Level" light suddenly came on (Friday). When I checked the overflow tank the level was low so I added coolant. In doing so I found the LIM gasket showed signs of leaking. Talked to local mechanic today who quoted me around $525.00 to fix it.
