6th Gen ('00-'05): Ignition problem

Ignition problem
*FIXED* I have an 03 SS that started misfiring the other day, I started pulling wires off the coils while it was running and determined the 3/6 coil was not firing, so I replaced it and still have the same problem "really wish I would have switched two of the coils to assure it was bad before buying a new one ".
So my next thought is it has to be the ignition control module, just wondering is there a way to check the module? is there anything else I should check before buying the module?

Most parts stores (Autozone/OReilly/Advance) can test ignition modules. Have them test it several times so it gets hot. Sometimes a problem won't be detected until it's nice and hot and everything expands.
Edit: I would also check the electrical connector and make sure it is clean/tight.

Thanks 03SSLE, I didnt know they could test these, I will stop by advanced auto on my way to the junk yard to have them test it, since it never fires at all i dont think getting it hot will be necessary.
I did inspect the connector and wires, everything seems fine and pins/sockets are shiny and new looking.

FIXED: I didnt have time to test the old module because the local pick-n-pull only wanted $15 for one and closed within an hour of me calling them, so I pulled one off of a 2004 Impala SS Supercharged"unfortunately someone had already tried removing the SC with a crow bar!!" and the Monte great now, I only drove it around the subdivision so far and it has an overpowering fuel smell from the exhaust that I assume is still from all the fuel poured into the exhaust when the wife drove it 5+ miles home on 4 cylinders.
The new one didnt have a part# on it"possibly an aftermarket part" but from what Ive read all these 3800 motors use the same module from around '89/'90 - '05/'06 regardless of being SC or NA, is this true?
Also I would assume the timing and heat of the spark would be different on the SC motors, so is the ICM pre-programed or does the ECM control and reprogram the ICM as needed?
