Default Ignition lock

So its been awhile since ive been on by its time to get the monte back into good shape. First problem: yesterday i put my key in to start up my 05 monte lt and the key wouldnt budge so i giggled and wiggled and still nothing. Then i remembered this morning to log back on to here and ive been searching all morning for a solution. What i have come up with so far is im going to need to buy an new ignition cylinder lock and install it. this is where i got a little confused. Will i need to get a new keys or will i be able to relearn the passlock for the old ones? Any help would be useful

When I had this problem with my car, I got a new ignition cylinder lock and kept my original keys. I didn't do the work myself though but I'd guess that if you did it yourself you'd have to buy an ignition cylinder that comes with keys.
