Come to find out it had nothing to do with the key being work. With the cylinder we had when you go from on to off you can't just turn it back to on. You have to remove the let completely. Well something got jammed in the cylinder and was making it think the key was never removed completely. So I ended up coughing up the couple hundred bucks and replaced the setich and cylinder so I wouldn't have to drill to get the tumbler out.
