7th Gen ('06-'07): Ignition key sticking to turn on-help solving

Hi,
Has anyone else had this problem?:
Sometimes, after the ignition key is inserted, it won't turn at all, like it gets hung up. It sticks and doesn't want to turn to this first accessory position etc.
Pulling the key out just like 1/8" often will allow the key to turn.
This is on a 2007 Monte Carlo 116K miles.
We only had 1 key for this used car and needed more keys make so I went to a great local locksmith.
I asked them to make 2 new keys like new by reading the oem key's bump codes from scratch, hoping the oem key is just worn and causing the problem.
But the new keys stick too..
We did seem to have this problem when we first got the car and replaced the lock cylinder, recoding it to match the key.
The replacement cylinder came with instructions and recoding pieces to match the oem key and we did it exactly.
I also see by vin that Chevy it looks like, did replace the switch under a safety recall in the past.
SO I don't know if these cylinders are just made poorly, allowing the key to go in too far or what the fix might be.
Let me know if you have any info or suggestions.
At this point I don't know if we should just live with it or replace the cylinder again..
Thank you
Jim
