Default idle

hey guys has anyone has a problem with their monte idling high? noting on my message or no lights come up just idles between the 1k and 2k...mainly around 1 1/2....at times i can drive without even giving gas..like im on cruise. any ideas? thinking maybe Throttle Position Sensor.

first place i would check is the throttle position sensor, also the idle air control sensor (iac) also clean your mass air flow sensor (maf) with some maf cleaner to see if that helps

thanks man i actually ordered the throttle sensor and mass air flow..i will change them tuesday and see what happens...i was told also like you said clean the mass air filter. thanks again will update!!

I would also consider checking for vacuum leaks.

I second this. Vacuum leaks will make the engine idle high, or vary up then down depending on the leak.

thanks guys looks like thats my next thing i will check...turns out the mass air flow didnt resolve my issue after driving it again.

My 2006 3.5 flex is idling high too. Can't wait to see how this thread turns out.
