Default HOW TO: Replace the Power Steering Rack & Pinion.

Here is a good YouTube video on how to replace the Power Steering Rack & Pinion.

I replaced my entire power steering system on my Monte. (steering rack, steering pump, reservoir, high & low pressure lines and cooling line). I did this with jack stands and ramps.

9 hours total. It took me 6 hrs the first day, then I did not touch it till the following weekend. The next weekend I spent 3 hours on it. All together I did the power steering, oil change & rear plugs and wires since I had good access with alternator off.

Default YouTube video link? Replace the Power Steering Rack & Pinion

I know that this thread is old, but I am hopeful the OP (or someone else) can provide me with a YouTube link to guide me through the process of replacing the power steering r&p on my son’s 2000 Monte Carlo SS. It’s his project car that he convinced me to help him get up and running. It was last started in 2015, so we have focused on getting the engine going. Starting now on the suspension and noticed that the rack and pinion needs to be replaced. I’ve been told that I need to drop the cradle and support the engine, and would like to see a video that I can share with my son. thanks, jhp
