Default Spark Plug Suggetions

I’m planning to upgrade my OEM spark plugs on my 06 Monte Carlo LT. Are there any suggestions which ones I should try my first go around with an upgrade, ie a particular brand?

I’m not too familiar with Spark Plugs, just that I’ve been told to go with Iridium.

Just put stock plugs back in it. You're not going to gain anything by changing to something different.

Given the year, its also pretty likely the stock plugs were iridium. The stock replacements are.

Iridium yes. My car went 150K on the stock ones. Guess it's a good testament to them.

I unbolted the coil packs, unbolted the dogbones and tilted the motor forward a bit with a ratchet strap to reach the back ones.

That helps a lot. I’ve been trying to figure out whether investing in higher grade plugs is worth the money and if I'd see any significant improvement in performance.

The thing to keep in mind is that plugs on an OEM scale are literally a couple dollars each. If they could get a significant improvement in efficiency (power + mpg) by spending 50 cents extra a car (as they would buy in such huge bulk) for a little different plug, they would've done that from the factory. But instead they're forced to dump literally millions into R&D instead to make those significant increases in other ways. That gives you an idea of how stripped bare the low hanging fruit is for power gains these days.

Unfortunately minor changes to ignition having a significant bang for the buck hasnt been a thing for decades now. The upside is its one less thing to worry about for those getting into a big power build and the longevity of these current plugs is amazing.
