How do you replace burnt out dash bulbs
I really would like to know how to replace a burned out drivers side climate control bulb. Can it be done?
The bulbs inside all of the dash parts are "non-serviceable".
Usually that means that they're either soldered into the board inside, or are inside of a sealed part that a dealer would just replace (as in they'd replace the whole climate control interface).
It can be done, but not easily. There are a few places around that will do it (bbengineer.com being one of them) and that will also do LED replacements of the bulbs if you wish (you can change the back-lighting color that way).
-Riggs.
There is a thread floating around here that goes into detail about fixing the climate control bulbs - you need to be good at soldering and have a soldering iron and sucker. The bulb part number from radio shack is 272-1154 and you will need, if I recall correctly, 6 bulbs if you want to replace all of them.

I love GM cars, but this is one thing I think they screwed up on. Previous uses of incandescent lighting, there was a bulb in a socket you could remove, these cars, they hard wired them in. Seriously, this just seems like a bad idea, but I'm sure was a huge net savings in building the cars.
The day I have to rip mine apart, I'm swapping them to LEDs (LEDs almost never burn out, completely worth the time).
Heck, the climate control slider on our Impala is burned out.... Come spring/summer, I may try ripping that apart.

Found it. It was in the sixth gen "How-To" section.
