Default Hood Question- G Body Cars

My car has gone without a hood for so long that my memory has failed me miserably. I finally got my cowl induction back from the body shop, and on my car. Problem is that I'm having trouble getting the hood to "pop" after I pull the release. I can't remember if there was a spring that pushes the hood up or not??? This is sad considering I have had 3 of these cars, but I just can't remember.

There should be a spring on the pin that is attached to the hood. That pin goes into the latch when you shut the hood. When you pull the cable the spring is what pops the hood up to the safety catch.

You might have the hood latch out of adjustment. Check the latch side.

but they also have them in chrome at the local auto parts store or at least used to have them there.
So with your car and all the polished parts it would fit right in.

Love the car that is all beat up and in primmer tha tthey put a chrome air cleaner on in hopes to make it look better at least a lil bit LOL
