Default Help with Quick Struts and Tire Pressure.

Monroe 171661- I was told these would work for my year even though they do not state for 18 inch rims I was told only the back struts had to state 18 inch. Is this true?

Also I just bought a new set of tire Dunlop SP Sport Sig 235/50r18's I do not have the tire pressure sticker in this car for some reason any idea what the reccomend pressure should be for these?

That part number will work with 18" wheels and 235/50/18 tires.
34 psi should be optimum.

Thank you for the very very fast reply. I just bought the car and I have been trying to get all of the parts that need replaced done before it gets to cold. out.

I think its only the strut mounts that are bad but since I will have to have an alignment it seems a better idea to replace the fronts. Rock auto has the quick struts for 103$ a pop seems pretty cheap to me.

I have also notice that my tire pressure sensors are way off on the new and old tires. The psi seems to change as I drive Is this normal?

I have had these installed on my 07 for a few months and have no complaints at all. Installation of the complete strut/spring assembly is ridiculously easy...the quality is just as good as the major labels and the price cannot be beat. I installed all 4 in just a few hours, including new sway bar links. Total job was only $300 in parts. Ride height has been restored, no "break in" period for settling, no squeaks, no bounce...got a 4-wheel alignment after install and the car rides like new.

Not sure how much your tire pressure changes while you drive, but a ~5psi difference from a cold tire to hot tire is not abnormal...If it changes literally while you drive on warm tires, the sensors may be bad or simply need to be reset by someone with a scanner.

That's crazy cheap it almost scares me to buy them. Are the 100% un branded? I have bought cheap struts in the past for other cars and greatly regreted it.

They are UNITY branded struts. They look exactly the same as the Monroe struts I installed on my '06.

Sounds like a good deal then I will pickup the fronts. I hope that fixes what I am thinking is the strut mount noise when I turn only at very low speeds o-mph-5-mph.

Heres where I see an issue I know according to all my friends that work for chevy dealerships that you can run the front struts on the 18 inch rim cars but I heard the back is a diffrent story with how the clearence works. Those rear struts you have listed say excludidng 18 inch wheels. Or is this not the case?
