Heater Resistor
How do i take this part out? when i look at it under the dash i can only get to 2 bolts. the third seems to be hidden behind a plastic cover behind the carpet that i cant move out of the way. i need a how to on how to remove the resistor. help please?
It is a bit of a pain but with a 1/4" swivel and a short extension it can be removed. Just a heads up that screw and the one on the same side of the resistor do not have to come all the way out, only about half way. you can then pull the back side down and slide it back towards the seat and it will drop down and you can remove it.
Here is a small write-up that I saved when I did mine a couple years back... I probably found on this forum.

The job is not difficult, just painful as you are trying to work under the passenger side of the dash. Put a folded blanket or something along the rocker to soften the blow.
Tools required: 1 Torx 15 size screwdriver to remove fan motor
1 7/32 size socket or nutdriver to remove resistor
Massive amounts of patience once you find out how stupid a place the resistor is located (against the firewall with 2 screws in the back)
How to: Remove the fan motor, (3 t15 size screws) it will be easier than working around it. You should now be able to see the plug for the resistor and 2 of the 3 retaining screws. Remove the front screw and loosen the second. You shouldn't have to remove the second or even loosen the third as the resistor assembly holes are open to the outside edge (Think of a "C" instead of an "O") You will have to force your socket against the rubber insulation to get a good hold on the screw head, frustrating, but not impossible.
Installation is the reverse.
