Default 01 MC blower resistor

Hi,
Can someone please tell me where the blower motor resistor is on an 01 Monte Carlo. I figured it would be right near the blower motor but I can't see it there.
Thanks

It's hid WAY up under the dash, somewhere in there. You need to stand on your head to get to it.
Make sure you use the new heavy duty replacement resistor block, encased in epoxy, when you replace it.

Probably too late for Gupper, but it may be of use for someone else

Tools required: 1 Torx head screwdriver size T15
1 7/32 size socket or nut driver
PATIENCE

The resistor is behind the fan motor, against the firewall. Place a blanket along the rocker edge so it won't dig into you as much. Remove the fan motor (3 screws) because it'll be a lot easier than working around it. You should now be able to see 2 of the 3 bolts holding the resistor. Remove the one closest to you, and loosen the second (you will have to force the socket against the rubber insulation to get a good hold on the bolt head). You do not have to remove the second or even loosen the third (have fun finding it), as the holesare open on 1 side (think of a letter "C" instead of an "O"). You now only have to rock it a bit, and it will come loose. Installation is the reverse.

***Don't make the same mistake as me. The resistor is actually a printed circuit board wrapped in epoxy. As opposed to the old "springs" style. It cost me $53 and a second trip to the dealer. A frustrating and painful job, but not impossible.
