Default HEATER LIGHT INOP

Guys this is my first post. I did not know there was a Monte Carlo forum. I have a 03 SS with 69K miles the only problem I have had was a clogged cat. Super good car. Any way tonite I noticed my passenger side heater control light is burned out. Has anyone relamped this light or do I have to replace the whole module? Thanks for any help.

Guys I guess by the number of replys I got on my post that nobody has had a burned out light. Anyway if anyone ever has a burned out heater control light with a 2003 monte carlo you cannot replace the lights. You have to replace the whole module to the tune of $240 dollars. A very bad GM design.

so what did you do with your old one?
yes you can change out the lights I know for fact that they can do it but the service centers are not allowed to do it.
you have to desodier and resoder the light back in.

But if you have already changed it out do you still have the old one? Im looking for another one i dont care if it lights or not i will chang ethe bulbs out to LED's anyway.

if you look in my photo album here you can see the lights i did in my dash

General motors kept it. When I originally found the burned out light I went to chevy to have them pull up the proper lamp to replace the burned out light. They looked in their parts deal and it showed the whole module to be replaced. I called the GM district office and raised holy hell about the no bulb replacement and the replyed back to me $100 dollars for them to install and replace the unit. I figured $100 dollars parts and labor out the door wasnt bad. Sometimes it pays to raise hell.

they are supper easy to do.
but if the guages go out on ya they are the same thing so be prepared.
the whole dash is this way .

the only thing that is a direct replacement for LED to LED is the lights for the rear def. and the ac and the other buttons
