I've been thru all those threads. I'm almost positive it's the element now. I guess I had never considered swapping the driver and passenger ones, that's pretty labor intensive but it would work. Still can't find a definite answer on if those part numbers from the last thread link will work?

The seat randomly came on yesterday on my way home from work, must have bumped it on low at some point by accident. Well... it got crazy hot, to the point where I thought it was going to burn me, so I turned it off. Still good chance it's the element? I found a donor complete seat for $120. Mine is slightly beat up so I may just replace it and hope for the best.

On the way to work this morning, the seat got insanely hot. Hot enough for me to smell possible burnt electrical. Hottest portion was backrest closest to the driver door. I'm assuming that's where the wires run up to? Since the ones for the butt rest come up by the left butt cheek area? Any thoughts on that?

I'd spend the 120 and get a new seat.
