Default Headlights beams are totally different...crazy?

Ok, so with my 2004 Monte Carlo LS, love the car but it seems that the headlight low beam patterns are totally wonky.

The passenger side projects pretty well, with a really weird bright spot down the road. But the drivers side is totally washed out, like there is nothing but a wash of light with no area of focus. Both lights are in pretty good condition and are not cloudy or faded over.

I'm thinking about replacing the headlights with new assemblies, or maybe better bulbs, thoughts?

Sounds like you just need to adjust/level them.. Theres a screw to adjust the beam up or down. Park in front of a closed garage door or something, turn on the lights and theres measurements somewhere about how high each bright spot is supposed to be.
