yes the sc is the uim if you turbo the sc car. i dont have a sc case on mine i am using the uim from a series 3 na (l26) as there aluminum and not plastic.

i build my engine myself, when i bought the short block that i have in it the guy i bought it from had the bottom end work already done.

im tuned to 472whp because thats all the fuel i have to support the power. the car is capable of probably close to 600whp once i get it more fuel.

400-420whp would be a z7 or stattama turbo setup with a nice cam. dont forget about the transmission though, at that power level you will kill a stock transmission very fast!

what should be upgraded in the transmission to handle that power?

Id like to go ahead and get everything ready before I actually put the engine in as far as cam, upgraded heads and such,

il keep an eye out for a low mile l67,if worse comes to worse I might just order one from milzy or zzp but the price on one is ridiculous since it doesn't come with all the accessories and find a used tranny for cheap, would the SC have good airflow? or is there any kind of customization to make it flow better?

the sc case should be fine. for the trans you will want to have dave at triple edge performance build your trans. he is very good, he will tell you what you do and dont need. at the power level you are trying to reach you will need almost everything though.

dont buy a engine from zzp or milzy, there way over priced. also for 400whp on a turbo build i doubt you would need ported heads.

You want to use your stock trans for as long as it holds and not worry about it until it blows

Just save up for what you need from TripleEdgePerformance and when it goes, you buy lol

yea you can use your stock trans till it goes but if you make hard pulls with it consistently it will not last long so have money ready for a rebuild soon after adding the extra power to it.

you can buy a trans from him and pay a core charge, once you get it install the new trans and send him your old trans to get your core charge refunded.

so you said the z7 or stattama turbo? I just looked some up but man they are pricey, but I guess if you want power you have to pay for it lol, I think il go with the z7 since its a little cheaper,i think I could get it all for a little less than 4k,including intercooler,65# injectors and a few more things, what about my fuel pump? if im getting bigger injectors shouldn't I upgrade the pump too?

edit: you also mentioned I nice cam..which one should I go with? I was checking out the xp hot cam from a website and it seemed good but id like that nice cam lope sound

yea there both expensive but both good kits. it would be a good idea to upgrade to a walbro 255 with a racetronics rewire. if going turbo i suggest a stage 2 turbo cam.

Sorry to chime in late.
If you stick with getting a L36 and you're concerned about the UIM, all you have to do is block the two coolant ports on the LIM that flow coolant in and out of the throttle body (and you can go an extra step, use JB Weld to fill in the passages on the UIM). When I port matched a LIM for my Monte, I plugged the coolant ports (a couple years later when I wanted to swap to the L26 UIM, I also filled the coolant ports in the UIM with JB Weld):
'04 Monte Carlo SS - Port Matched LIM

If you want to go with the Series III L26 UIM, this is probably everything you need to know about it:

Lots of options, just in this thread alone!!! A lot to figure out where you want your end game to be

Thanks Maniac, thats my main concern on the l36 would be the plastics getting hot,i do plan on getting the IC with the turbo kit so I don't have to worry about that later, and il look up on that thread since I am kind of interested doing that top swap if I don't get my hands on a low mile l67 but that's impossible here

would 65# injectors be good for the walbro 255 pump?
