Default Fuel Filter

Hello MonteCarloForum. Can someone please help me by providing me with detailed instructions on how to replace the fuel filter on a 2004 3.8 non-supercharged Monte. More specifically, how to use the special tool needed to remove the fuel filter. Thank you very much!

Could be wrong, but you shouldn't need a special tool. I thought they had the plastic tabs on the sides that you squeeze together that pops the quick disconnect off. Then you just wrench off the other side using the nut? (All done after relieving pressure of course)

If they changed it to be like the fuel rails in those years, you just buy a disconnect tool, install it around the line and push. Itll disconnect the clips inside and pop the line off automatically.

Bumpin is right. All you need is a couple of wrenches to disconnect the fitting on one side and the other side is just a squeeze tab. No special tools.
