I believe there was a recall for the steering rack for the 06-07 Ss. My car and my cousins 06 impala both have a slight clicking or clunking noise that can ever so slightly be heard and felt in the steering wheel. Mine isn't that bad at all so I have left it alone. I dont feel it during acceleration so the one other thing it could be is your engine mounts perhaps.

That's my guess.

If there is a recall you'd be a fool not to take it to the dealer and have it looked it and replaced for free under the recall. I have a white 98 Monte Carlo which looks like a Delorean now because of the defective white paint. It would cost around 3,000 to really have this thing painted right. I could just beat the hell out of the two previous owners. GM said it was defective and for a 6 year period agreed to repaint all models with the defective paint free of charge. And instead they did nothing with it. Don't be that guy. If there is a recall milk it for all its worth before the recall ends and it's on your own dime.
