Eh, I think it's cute they put "Fog Lights" on cars these days. I mean really, people didn't need them in the 50's, 60's, 70's or 80's. But for some reason the auto manufactures started to build cars with them in the late 80's and they just came on more and more cars through out the 90's.

If I need more light that's what the brights are for.

But to help out 04MonteLS, 18's on the 6th gen Monte really is the biggest you want to go if you want decent ride comfort. With an 18" wheel you can save some money if you keep the width the same as stock, but good luck finding decent looking 18x6 wheels. I suggest 18x8 with a 35mm offset with 245/45/18 tires. That should fit perfectly, even if you were lowered, and if you want to take a little extra precaution go with a 37mm offset. Running that size tire will also keep the speedometer right with 18's

Have you looked at Eagle 077's? They look quite nice on the 6th gen Monte and if I remember right aren't too expensive.

yeah your right they dint have fog lights back then on all of the cars but they did have them on some cars.

thing is they do help you see the road better at night but you have to know how to use them IE not running them all the time they are called FOG lights for a reason. thing is everyone runs then all the time and blind folks with them and now cant figure out why they get tickets for doignit. If you want to do this it is fine with me but put the right bulb in there to do the job and get some DRIVING lights, normally they are tinted to a diffrent color and they are aimed at the road a bit more and dont blind on comming traffic.

But the old days also had less traffic on teh raod and asl had dimmer head lights dont mean i wanto go back to those days When i had the 56 chevy i changed the whole system over to haligon bulbs for the beifit of being abel to see where i was going at night and in rain or fog.

the ones on this car are so dim i would be better off with a spot light taped to the front bumper I could see that at least.

High beams in fog is a nono, yellow fog lights close to the ground is the way to go.

Thanks for the input on the rims, but a friend of mine has dubs on her Monte and the ride is fine.

I like the Eagle 077's except that they don't have a lip, that kinda turns me off about those, but the price is defintely attractive.
