Default Exhaust Mods

I made a thread a while ago about how I removed the stock mufflers, and another one about how I wanted to remove the U bend, but I can't decide what to do for sure. I wanted to just leave the mufflers off and leave the resonator but delete the U bend, but now I'm wondering if I should just get some higher flow mufflers and delete both the U bend and the resonator. I like the deep, throaty sound I have with no mufflers right now, it has a nice low rumble at low RPM and doesn't have an obnoxious "ricey" sound at all. But does anyone know what will probably sound better and perform better? I also plan to build myself a custom air box for a K&N cone filter some time soon and get a ZZP 1.0 PCM if that should affect my decision any. Also, what would be a good muffler to get if I deleted the U bend and resonator?

Default RE: Exhaust Mods

The U-Bend is the biggest restriction in the entire exhaust system and should be removed first. Some people also do the resonator, but that produces a loud annoying drone... especially on long trips.

Go with Flowmasters if you want a loud exhaust.
