Default Electrical problem possibly

I just bought a 2001 monte carlo ss and have already ran into some troubles and was wondering if someone could help me. The mph would run normal then all of a sudden it will stick and anytime after that it would just gain speed and not go back to 0 mph. The next problem i noticed was the fuel gauge was not working then would move a little and go up to a 1/4 of a tank then back to full. The final problem that i noticed was the CD player not working properly. it turns on and you can adjust the volume and switch the station but there is no sound. its still a stock radio player did not know if there was some sort of theft lock on them or not.I checked all the fuses that i could find and none of them seemed to be blown..Is there a amp somewhere the radio does to which might be blown? If someone could help me that would be greatly appretiated..thanks

There is a factory amp for the radio. It is mounted under the rear dash in the trunk. As far as the interment cluster goes, they have a tendency to go bad. It comes out as a unit, and takes under 1/2 to get it out. You will probably have to get a new one from the dealer. The problem lies in the stepper motors chevy used for the gauge needle movement.

awhile ago I saw someone post a link of a shop that repaired them. I can't find the post off hand.
