Electric Water Pump.....

RE: Electric Water Pump.....
gentlemen...if i may...as some of you may know, i have a non-monte that a have spent the last few years in running a national drag racing series....it is a dodge small block, and i bought a water pump driver from moroso...it was MUCH cheaper than the full electric water pump, and it used the pre-existing pump. it took almost no time to install and im sure they make one for everything..they are fairly universal...it is just a small motor and pulley that mount next to the water pump, and you run a toothed belt from the motor to the pulley that they include.

That sounds like a pretty cool add on....
How hard was it to fab a mount for that thing or was it a kit specifically designed for that motor? I'll have to do some hunting around for this one... Good idea...

mine came with the motor, the pulley for the pump side, the belt, a bracket, and a TON of bolts of all different length. the directions had a picture of the bracket in like 20 different positions and said below each picture, for instance

so on...and then you contorted it to fit and be tight enough with the belt..it works great..it has an attatchement to turn on when the thermostat opens, but i jst wired a switch into my switch board....i prefer to control it, and when i run the only pwoer drawing item that i have is my HV fuel pump. considering the popularity of the 3800 series, i would expect that someone woudl make one for your car, and if not, all would would have to do it have a piece of metal cut that you could use for a bracket, and the bracket is similar to a tesnioning bracket on an old alternator.
