HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR WATER PUMP IS BAD?
HOW WOULD I KNOW IF MY WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN MY 2000 3.8 SS MONTE CARLO PACE CAR ? I ALSO WANTED TO KNOW IF A BAD WATER PUMP CAN CAUSE YOUR CAR TO OVER HEAT? NEED HELP ASAP

There are a couple of ways on telling if your water pump is bad
1. Is it leaking anti-freeze?
2. Is it noisy when the engine is running?
Those are the two most common problems.
If your car is overheating, the first thing I would check would be thermostat. If it is staying the close position that would make your engine overheat.
Also make sure that the cooling fans are kicking turning on when the car gets to proper operating temp.
Make sure the radiator is not clogged,
1. Is it leaking anti-freeze?
2. Is it noisy when the engine is running?
