Default DRL Rewire Project

I would have no idea on how to go about doing this, but I would like to somehow rewire the DRL's to the fog lights on my 01 MC SS. That way the fogs would come on instead of the high beams on half power. They would look a little better IMO. Or maybe rewire them to the parking lights. Either would be fine but I would prefer the fogs.

And maybe this wouldn't set the error message like when you just disable them?

Any thoughts?

Or maybe just a short how-to on wiring an independent fog light switch.

You can't simply rewire the DRLs to the fogs... the BCM will get pissed and you'll have all kinds of warnings/codes on your cluster.

I did build a custom DRL bypass for a customer a few years ago that rerouted the DRLs to the fogs on a Monte SS and didn't throw any codes... I think he is still running it as well

You could add a simply toggle for the fogs, but you are going to have to add a relay and wiring... you can't trigger the factory relay without upsetting the BCM either

Well then that looks to be the best option and would work to my needs.

So just to be clear, add a relay and wire it up to a switch?
