Driver Side Door Lock Problem
My '95 MC driver side door has a couple of problems I think relate to the door locking assembly. When I try to lock or unlock the door electrically, I can hear the actuator, but the lock "thumb handle" only moves a little. The lock works fine when done manually . And sometimes when I use the key to unlock the door, I can't turn it. And the keyless unlock doesn't work either.
When it gets colder, after opening the door, when I try to shut it, it bangs on the striker and I have to push up on the locking mechanism.
In the fall, I lubed all the locking assemblies with low temp lithium grease.
I'm thinking of spraying the lock mechanism with 'Blaster (penetrating oil) and then some Dri-Slide (liquid graphite) in case it's gummed up.
Any ideas?
Anybody have this happen to them?
