Default Does my 2004 LS have electronic key

As above, I have found sites that say it is a standard key, some say transponder key.
I didn't get a remote with the car and I dont care. I do want to have a couple of spare ignition keys tho...

My 05 SS is a regular key. If it was a transponder key, there would be a chip on it. I didn't get a remote either. Bought 2 on EBay and programmed it myself. Easy to do if you have the original radios with the display button.

As said, your 2004 monte is a regular key.

Great, thanks for the replies guys.

I'll be getting a couple of spares cut today.

I replaced my HVAC control yesterday and while I had the dash apart, cleaned all the nooks and crannies and the ducts and the cover and inside the cluster, looks like new except for the broken button cover on the hazard switch.
We'll live with that.

Its been apart before, as some of the screws were missing. I think the PO had the heater core replaced. It was his daughters daily driver, who is my daughters friend. She had said her heat didn't work this past winter and had it fixed.
