5th Gen ('95-'99): Dimmer control wiring definition
Daughter came home and said there were no dash panel lights on her 97 Monte.
I have checked that headlights work, tail/parking lights work, radio HAS dimming, light inside Dimmer switch IS dimming with **** rotation, overhead light comes on @ end of dimmer rotation as it should....
pulled the instrument panel, and the lights work in the panel (when powered externally).
I guess I am down to tracing wire from panel to dimmer switch (didn't find any that have 0 ohms) or to finding the pinout of the 'dimming' side of the connector - and confirm if it is dimmer is bad, or if wiring is bad.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me with which wire from the dimmer switch goes to the instrument panel?? (and is this supposed to be a DC signal, or a PWM signal??)
(nothing looks or smells burned/shorted in the dimmer assembly - there are 3 large transistors, but not knowing what is really supposed to be happening there, I did not dive too far into checking these - if someone has a good trouble shooting method, I would welcome this info also)
thanks for the help

thanks for the thought - - I should have mentioned that - I checked all of the fuses on the right passenger panel before I started doing the other items - all checked good. I looked at the labels of fuses under the hood, but none seemed to relate to this.
(and since it was such a good suggestion, I just went an re-checked it - - darn - still good. (yeah, I was hoping!!) )
