coolant in oil?
Finding coolant contaminating your oil is bad news for Monte lovers.
Generally, the first thing that comes to mind is the issue of Lower Intake Manifolds succumbing to adverse reaction to GM's DexCool Antifreeze.
My '04 3400 LS suffered this problem and I needed to have those Gaskets replaced.
If it is determined that your Lower Intake Gaskets are at fault for your problem, ... use aftermarket FelPro Problem-solver Gaskets and flush the murderous DexCool out replacing it with some Top Shelf coolant.

People still believe DexCool was the problem. Dex cool was reformulated before the 6th gen Monte existed. Not to mention, after GM lost a class action lawsuit about Dex, I would hope if Dex related problems were not resolved they would quit using it on current car.
I have also worked on my share of early 90's 3100 powered cars that never had Dex (used the good old green coolant from the factory) and they had the same LIM failures.
Root cause:
- Nylon gaskets are bad material to begin with.
- The nylon becomes brittle over time due to the high temp of any coolant used and the pressure from the cooling system forcing on it.
But using the metal core gaskets are 100% the way to go!

Does your engine have a lot of miles on it? Is it something worth doing new manifold gaskets on? Reason I'm saying this is my girlfriends daughter's 01 Cavalier had coolant in the oil and since it was a beater I use a head gasket / engine block sealer and it did the trick. Her coolant did not have any anti-freeze and the block or something cracked this past winter and money was tight for her. So it's lasted all winter and this summer the oil still looks good.
I used the Bars liquid copper and it did some good, then bought a product called K-seal and that did the trick. Each time I changed the oil 3 times to try and remove any coolant from the bearings etc. Have twice since changed the oil, last time was about 3 weeks back and still no coolant in the oil. Yeah!
Here is a link to the K-seal below:

Why would that be? I have not ran the car yet since changing the oil.
