Default Compatible parts car for a 03 Monte Carlo SS

Hello,

I bought my 03 Monte Carlo SS 8 months ago and have so far incountered 90% of the common problems these have haha.

I work and fix everything myself and am learning as I go, and this site has helped me quite a bit...

Hopefully someone can answer a few questions I have...

1. What cars are compatible to use for parts?
(I bought a 02 gram prix 40th anniversary)
for mainly the transmission, but I would like to use whatever I can off of it.

Unfortunately the '03 SS was a one off year for the transmission. Any prior or later year is incompatible. The ID tag is on the back side of the differential and will have a number and 2 large letters. Those letters have to match.

Here's an example: 4T65E ID Tag Info

As for the other stuff, assuming the Grand Prix has a 3800 engine, everything should be compatible. Axles and suspension, EVAP system and most electronics should be the same too.

Thank you, and yes it is a 3.8. After I posted this post I entered both vin numbers on the Chevrolet site and both transmissions came up with the same specs?

Specs. would be the same, but internal electronics are different. I learned this from Dave at Triple Edge Performance when I needed to replace the trans. on my "03 SS. Dave is a great resource for information on the 4t65e and is always willing to help.

Thanks for the information, much appreciated.

I have another question that has me stumped..

My heat/AC only works on setting 1 & 5.
I bought a new blower motor and heater resistor and it's still the same thing!!
I looked at the connections in both ends and everything looks bran-freaking new....
I also checked all the fuses and everything was good...
I don't know what the next step would be??

I suggest starting a new thread for that problem, but most likely the next likely culprit would be the HVAC control module.

Do forget to put those roof rails from the grand prix on your monte if you like that kind of look. It should have them being that it's a 40th anniversary. Or post them for sale someone might pick them up off of you
