I noticed the little engine is lit up on my guages. Does that mean I need to take it somewhere and see if it has a code? Not to sound dumb.

 

Yep, that's what it means. Most auto parts stores will read the code for free. Once you have the code, check out a website like this (OBD-II Check Engine Light Trouble Codes) to help figure out what the code means. And of course check back here for further help.
